In the article i just read i found man thing that were true and i could testifty from my point of view from what ive seen others say and do. In this article it talks of how todays leaders teach chidren lies but they dont mean to. They try to help their self esteem but it only winds up hurting them in the end. lies such as you are gifted, you are so smart, you are amazing, and it makes the kids believe they are gifted, smart, and amazing. what they dont realize is that by believing that when they enter into the real world they ask themselves questions wondering why other people dont think the same way that their families thought about them.
I think this applies to my internship by letting me know that i start with a clean slate theyre is no one that is gonna say im gifted, smart, or amazing without first proving. many people walk into internships thinking that this is gonna be a walk in the park, but they dont actually realize that it is a lot more work than they are prepared to do.
the things i found most relevant is how believeing these seemingly harmless lies of encourgement we hurt are self when the real world lets us know that they were really nothing but lies, and that you have to work for praise now no one just willingly give it to you without earning it first.
