1. I've found that there are many unwritten protocalls that have to be adressed, one is that if the doctor is seeing a patient you must stay quiet to keep her from messing up or being distracted. The second one is that the patients are not alway gonna feel comfortable with a student being n the room, so you have to learn to read those ques and escort yourself out of the room without having to be told. The hierarchy at the doctors office isnt that strict at all Dr. Hulsey sees everyone as an equal to her self and doesnt let her doctorate degree get in the way of that. The coomunication at the office is outstanding never once have i felt left out or ignored and neither has anyone else.
2. Everyone in the office is required to wear formal cothing, unless you are a nurse then you are required to wear scrubs. For the office workers i think it is suitable because they have to look professional to fit into their jobs, for nurses it is a different ball game they have to wear scrubs to protect them and have enough pocket to carry all their stuff in.
3. I have been able to apply so much of what I have learned through the years to this internships, such as i have been able to answer questions right on the spot if im asked one about a medical issue. I have a head start because i took many years of health classes and my moms a nurse so when they would throw out a really complicated word i would already know what it means
